Storing Acrylic Paint

Since acrylics dry fairly quickly, storing specially mixed colors needed for a painting can be tricky. Years ago, I bought what will probably be a lifetime supply of small Solo Cups used in the restaurant industry. You get them whenever you order take out Chinese food. They worked great for storing paint for a day or so, but some paintings just take longer.

I played with glueing small thin pieces of sponge to the lids that can be dampened before closing and found this keeps paint useable for several days- even in dry climates like Colorado.

I also keep a drawer full of plastic containers fo storage and mixing of larger amounts of paint and glazes.
